Currencies and rails

Five currencies, three rails, one arrival date

Which rail a payment takes decides when it lands and what it costs. Here is every one we use, with the cut-off times that move the date.

Three things that move an arrival date

A missed cut-off

A SEPA payment approved after 14:00 CET goes a day later. The quote tells you before it happens, and the date changes on screen.

A bank holiday on either side

SEPA follows the TARGET2 calendar, SWIFT follows the holidays of both countries. Both are in the date we show.

A second correspondent bank

Some SWIFT payments pass through two banks, adding a day and a fee. We route through one wherever the receiving bank allows it.
